Day 1 of my insanity
So somehow I have decided to resurect the idea that I might run a 1/2 marathon at Disney World. Yesterday morning was my first "run" (and I use the term run VERY lightly right now!), after previously driving around my park I thought it was 9/10ths of a mile as that is what the odometer in my van read, I then turned to the map my run website, they told me it was only 3/4 of a mile, I thought ok that's still an ok start for the first week, right? WRONG! Yes the website was also wrong. I get home from work ready to run so I grab the iPod and my phone so I can use the app to track my run and progress over the next 154 days and take off. I shuffle/run around the entire outer perimeter of my park and as I arrive back to my front door I think to myself, "wow that was a really short run" and check my phone app. It was a short run indeed, 0.64 mi to be exact, in a whopping 9 minutes and 18 seconds ugh! But since I was already back to my porch, I wasn't about to go back out! On the bright side I didn't run into any animals or injure myself in ways that only I can manage and not explain! My plan is to continue light jogging for the week and add in the gym and weight training next week, we'll see how that plays out!!
